Schulich Leader Scholarship

A scholarship is a financial assistance awarded to students on several criteria, usually on academic qualifications. Scholarships allow students to pursue higher education with reduced financial burden, as scholarship money, unlike loans, do not have to be repaid.

About the Scholarship

Schulich Leader Scholarship is among Canada's greatest and most coveted scholarship programs. It is sponsored by business leader and philanthropist Seymour Schulich. It is available to students engaging in STEM programs at 20 companion universities. Half of the grants valued at $1,000,000 are for engineering scholarships, and the other half, valued at $80,000, are for science, math, or technology scholarships.

The scholarships are distributed to universities across Canada, which then award the scholarship to incoming nominated students. Each year 300,000+ high school students apply for this scholarship, out of which 1500 high school students are nominated for the award, and 50 are actually awarded.
