Meeting People and Making Friends at University

Transitioning from high school to university can be challenging. It can be scary to be in a fresh location with a new group of individuals.

Frosh Week

Frosh Week is a week-long celebration that welcomes new students to campus.

For incoming freshmen, there are numerous scheduled games and activities arranged to help them become acquainted with the campus as well as the students and teachers at their school. Despite the fact that Frosh Week has had to adjust to the circumstances of today's epidemic, many colleges are still attempting to prepare students for university using covid principles. Many have moved to virtual surroundings, however some may still hold events in person (depends on your university). Overall, Freshman Week is an excellent opportunity to meet new people and create new acquaintances in your area of study.

Clubs

It can be difficult to locate individuals who share your hobbies and interests, but joining a club solves that problem. Make an effort to join clubs that actually interest you. Take a chance and join the group, even if you're not an expert at singing, art, robotics, or even chess. You never know what you'll find out or who you'll meet.

Engagement in Class

It can be difficult to approach someone and strike up a discussion. Participate in class discussions where open conversation is encouraged. You might meet someone who shares your viewpoint, or even better, someone who is interested in yours. This gives individuals the opportunity to get to know you while you get to know them in a relaxed setting.

Group Assignments

If you already have one or two classmates, consider making new friends and collaborating with them. Although it may seem frightening, attempt to form a group with at least one person with whom you are already familiar to alleviate any worry. Working in groups is an excellent approach to get to know people and their interests while completing a common job.

Be Yourself

Last but not least, be yourself! The more authentic you are the more genuine your friendships will be.
