1) Write a Good Essay

For your admission it is extremely necessary for your PSE to be well written and display exactly how you are an ideal candidate for the program. For this make sure there are no grammatical or spelling errors, to help with this you can get different people to edit your work and critique it.

2) Submit Essay on Time or Early

It may not seem like a big deal but submitting your essay on time or early can make all the difference when it comes to your chances for getting into this program. There have been instances when people who submitted their applications in November got accepted in December. The university will take notice if you submit your application two minutes before the deadline.

3) Quality > Quantity for Extracurriculars

Although extracurriculars are important to have for your admission do not try and overwhelm yourself with doing too many at once. Queens Commerce will still reject your application even if you had 15 different extracurriculars. The best advice is to have a few extracurriculars that you are very invested in that will show your dedication and talk about those in your PSE.

4) Grades

While it is redundant to say it is nonetheless extremely important that you keep up your grades while in highschool. Out of 8000 applicants 2,500 are cut at the beginning of the application process because they do not meet the grade requirements. To make sure that your grades are sufficient for the program make sure that you do not burn yourself out during the school year. Try and make time for things other than school so you can get your mind off the worry and stress that you may be experiencing.
